Guestbook for Mabel E. Hooverson
sign guestbook

I was saddened to hear about Mabel's passing. I would stop and say "Hi" to her when I would visit my dad's cousin, Edna Wiese, at Hillview. My dad was Robert Wiese, who was a neighbor of Mabel's when they were very young, and also good friends with Lud and Ben. In fact, I had given a picture to Mabel of my dad, my aunts Florence and Bernice, and Art and Lud, and "Ford", the dog. I told her I would show her some pictures from when we remodeled our house, showing the old wall paper, etc. (I now live in her childhood home.) I regret that I never got to do that before she was gone. Sometimes she wasn't in her room, other times I needed to be some place, and the last time, the Friday before she died, I saw that Pastor Rimmert was with her. I'd stop next time, I thought...She was such a pleasant lady and was proud of her family. My deepest sympathies to all of you.

My mother was Louise Beitlich, daughter of Leda and Reinhold Beitlich. I can remember my mom telling us a story about a little Mabel Scheck that was walking to school in a new dress. "Where did you get that new dress, Mabel?" "Mamma made it" "Where did you get that new coat?" "Mamma made that too!" My mom loved telling that story using a sweet little girls voice for Mabel. Mom said Mabel was so proud of her new outfit! My deepest sympathies to all of you. May wonderful memories fill your heart.

She will be missed. I mostly saw Aunt Mabel at ma Hatch's or at family picnics. She was always a delight to see and visit with.
